ShellyOwner and Trainer
In 2014 I finally made the decision to leave my job and pursue a career working full time with dogs. After offering training and walking services part time to pet dog clients since 2012, I found there was a need for a structured daycare service in Dundee. Once I had secured our Harrison Road property, the hard work began. We officially opened our daycare doors in 2016 and we have gone from strength to strength. I love learning something new from every dog who steps paw in our door. Training dogs, breaking down behaviours and helping dogs successfully navigate their world and build bonds with their owners is a genuine passion of mine. I have five dogs of my own and compete in Scentwork trials and we are in training to compete in IGP. ---------------------------------------- My dog related education is listed below: 2014 - Dog Emergency First Aid 2014 - Safepaws Dog Daycare Management 2017 - APDT Advanced Level Dog Training 2017 - Canine Emergency First Aid 2021 - STSK9 MVP Programme 2022 - Bullvision Decoy Course 2022 - Emergency Canine First 2022 - PBK9 Drive Direction School 2024 - Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers 2024 - Scentwork UK Tier 1 Instructor Course 2024 - Lepinski Decoy Elements Course 2024 - GrittyK9 Detection Dog Training 2025 - Scentwork UK Tier 2 Instructor Course 2025 - Scentwork UK Level 1 Judges Course 2025 - IGP Decoy Training Jamie Bows 2025 - Laser Directional Training 2025 - Hans Verbruggen Nepopo Seminar |

In 2017, I started college, studying NC Animal Care. I progressed on to gaining my HND in 2019. Whilst studying at college, I signed up as a Guidedog puppy walker and brought my first dog Becky, home with me. In 2019, I also volunteered at Dundee Doggy Daycare to add to my dog experience for college and I loved it. I learned more in my short time here than I did in college and it was this move that changed my career path. In 2020, I signed up to shadow Shelly at Dundee Doggy Daycare to gain experience as a dog trainer and have dedicated my time to learning from the dogs. I was invited to join the daycare team after my shadow programme ended and I have been here ever since. In 2021, I brought home my field line Labrador boy, Blake, and both of my dogs are now sporting gun dogs and during shooting season, I am usually found up the hills or out on the estate working them. -------------------------------------- My dog related education is listed below: 2016 - Volunteer assistant at Blackness Vets 2017 - NC Animal Care 2017 - GuideDog Puppy Walking Scheme 2018 - GuideDog Puppy Training 2019 - HND Animal Care 2019 - Volunteer at Dundee Doggy Daycare 2020 - Shadow programme with Shelly 2021 - Shadow programme with Gamekeeper 2022 - Emergency Canine First Aid |
DanOffice Manager
My background is in shipping and logistics in Liverpool, we always had family dogs growing up but never imagined I would be lucky enough to work with them one day. After moving to Dundee in 2014, I helped Shelly with her dog walking, taking out the dogs who needed solo walks. Once I had enough experience, I shadowed Shelly in daycare to learn the ins and outs of the business and the surprising amount of paperwork needed to everything running smoothly. I officially started in December 2017 and have been here ever since. Although my job title is Office Manager, I spend the majority of my day playing with the dogs, helping Shelly and Sarah with training and organising our diaries.
